Durham Ferry is a 209-acre park with a working farm, nature trails, animal habitats, visitors’ center, and picnic/camping facilities. A combination of classroom instruction and field study provide students with a rich foundation that supports standards-based instruction in core curricular areas. At this academy students have the opportunity to develop leadership skills as they are trained to facilitate field days for elementary students from other schools in the county and facilitate the Challenge Ride Program for disabled clients of United Cerebral Palsy. |

Durham Ferry High School is designed for students in grades 9 through 12 who don’t mind integrating a bit of hard work and getting dirty into their school day. Individualized learning plans based on students’ skills, knowledge levels, and personal interest drive the curriculum. Students have daily exposure to farm life and may choose to participate in the ROP Farm Management class. |
