Just think what it would like if we never lost the mind of a child and we were able to maintain the creativity and curiosity that keeps young children asking questions and expanding their understanding of the world.

Venture Academy Family of Schools (VAFS) is committed to keeping the mind of a child alive by offering a full range of innovative teaching/learning experiences.

We encourage you to explore the many pathways to learning available at VAFS. Whether your child attends a Modified Daily Attendance Academy or participates in Home Study you will find that,

with the support of a VAFS teacher, each student has the ability to individualize his or her educational plan. Students may choose from a "menu" of workshops, courses, and activities that spark their interest and fulfill core academic requirements.

Venture Academy has received grants to expand their ability to provide unique career pathways for students.

The first grant is the California Health Science Capacity Building Project to establish a career pathway for students in grades 7-12, entitled Pathway to Health Careers (P2HC). The $150,000 multi-year grant is funded in part by the California Department of Education Career Technical Education SB 70 Grant. The program includes health career exploration; field trips to crime labs, hospitals, and clinics; healthcare industry guest speakers; and hands-on experience. It brings an affiliation with Cal-HOSA which is the California chapter of the national student organization Health Occupations Students of America founded in 1976. The second grant is the California Partnership Academy (CPA) Grant in the Energy and Utilities Industry Sector. The CPA, entitled GreenIt Academy, is for students in grades 10-12 interested in exploring the Energy and Utilities Industry Sector. The grant is partially funded by PG&E for four years: Planning year ($40,000), Year 1 ($42,000), Year 2 ($72,000), and Year 3 ($81,000). There is a possibility the funding may continue beyond the four years.  Visit the website for the Academy  at http://greenit.sjcoe.net/GreenIT/GreenIT.html.
