The English Language Proficiency Assessments for California(ELPAC) is the required state test for English Language Proficiency (ELP) that must be given to students whose primary language is other than English. The Smarter Balanced Assessment System will give parents and students more accurate and actionable information about what students are learning. Because these assessments are computer adaptive, they will also provide better information about the needs and successes of individual students. 2014-15 will be the first school year of full implementation of the new assessments.
